Create Connection with Windows 2000 Network Connection Wizard

Step 1 of 19

Click on the Start button located in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Move the mouse pointer to Settings, another menu will open.
Click on Network and Dial-up Connections.

Double click Make New Connection.

Click the Next button.

Choose Dial-up to the Internet, click the Next button.

Select the third option, I want to set up a connection manually.
Click the Next button.

Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
Click the Next button.

Enter the phone number of the closest Net2U Access Point in the Telephone number box.
Remove the tick from beside Use area code and dialing rules.
Click the Advanced button.

In the window that is now open, click on the Connection tab located at the top of the window.
Select PPP (Point to Point Protocol).
Select None in the bottom half of the window.
Click on the Addresses tab located at the top of the window.

For your systems IP address, select Internet service provider automatically provides one.
Select My ISP automatically provides a Domain Name Server (DNS) address.
Click the OK button.

You will now be back in this window.
Click the Next button.

Enter you Net2U username in the box titled User name. Make sure that you enter your username in lower case letters.
Enter your Net2U password in the box titled Password. Make sure that you enter your password in lower case letters.
Click the Next button.

Enter Net2U into the Connection name box.
Click the Next button.

If you want to set up Outlook Express as your email program, select Yes then click the Next button.
If you do not want to set up Outlook Express as your email program, select No then click the Next button then, go to Step 19.

Select Create a new Internet mail account.
Click the Next button.

Enter your real name in the Display name box. You can use Capital letters and spaces in this box.
Click the Next button.

In the E-mail address box, type in username@net2u.com.au, where username is your Net2U username. Enter this address in lower case letters.
Click the Next button.

Step 17 of 19

Select POP3 for the type of Incoming mail server.
In the box titled Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server, enter mail.net2u.com.au. Enter this server name in lower case letters.
In the box titled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server, enter mail.net2u.com.au. Enter this server name in lower case letters.
Click the Next button.

Enter your Net2U username in the Account name box. Enter the username in lower case letters.
Enter your Net2U password in the Password box. Enter the password in lower case letters.
Do not place a tick in the box titled Log on using Secure Password Authetication.
Click the Next button.

Step 19 of 19

Configuration of your connection is now complete.
If you want to connect to the Internet immediately, place a tick next to Connect to the Internet immediately.
Click the Finish button.
