Configure Netscape Communicator for Macintosh

Step 1 of 4
  • Open Netscape by clicking the icon on the desktop.
  • Click on the Edit menu option located at the top of the screen.
  • Select Preferences from the drop down menu.

  • A new window titled Preferences will open.
  • In the right hand side of the window, in the area titled Navigator starts with, click on the Home page button.
  • In the box titled Home page location, enter www.net2u.com.au. If you want the browser to open with a different home page, enter the web site address in this box.

  • In the left hand column, scroll down to Mail and Newsgroups and click on this entry.
  • Click on the Identity option underneath Mail & Newsgroups.
  • In the right hand side of the window, type your real name in the box titled Your name.
  • In the box titled email address, enter your Net2U Internet email address. This will take the form your_username@net2u.com.au. The username part of the email address is your Net2U username. Make sure that you enter the email address in lower case letters.
  • If you want to include a business or organisation name on emails that you send, then enter that name into the box Organization.

Step 4 of 4
  • In the left hand column click on the entry for Mail Server.
  • In the box titled Mail server user name enter your Net2U username in lower case letters.
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box enter mail.net2u.com.au in lower case letters.
  • In the Incoming mail server box enter mail.net2u.com.au in lower case letters.
  • In the area titled Mail server type place a dot next to POP3.
  • Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the settings. Then close Netscape.
